Rereading often feels familiar. But recognising a sentence is not the same as retrieving it from memory.
Active recall
Active recall means closing the lesson and trying to retrieve the idea yourself. It feels harder, but reveals far more.
A simple practice
After each concept, ask three questions: what did I learn, how would I explain it without looking and where could I use it?
